I am a lover of life and all things that make us smile. Monday, while not my favourite day of the week, is still another day to reflect on the finer things of life. For me, those moments come when you least expect them and often come from a two foot square space.
I spend hours tramping through the trees, roadside ditches, along lakes and sloughs and in our own yard. Outings that reap the beauty bestowed on us by Mother Nature and the world she provides.
There are times that this beauty comes from devastation. The small green shoots and tiny seedlings growing skyward. Surviving in a desolate landscape that had once succumbed to floods, avalanche or fire.
I stand in the square and look around. There is always something that makes me smile. Something that creates a feeling of being thankful. Confirms that what I have and what I give is worth far more than the things that makes me grumble.
