In a few hours, 2018 will become 2019. The old calendar on the wall will be replaced with new unmarred and unmarked pages ready to guide us through the coming year. The dates and holidays don’t change, well that’s not completely true since Easter does its own thing, bouncing around somewhere between March and April, and then there is February when we might get an extra day for Leap Year. The new calendar prompts New Year’s resolutions spilling from the lips of many. Their intentions written on the calendar blocks to remind them of their self inflicted promises, keeping them going, pushing. Some succeed, some do not. I make no such resolutions or promises as the precipice of the coming year looms before me. Each year, and for that matter, each day is set out quite simply—to live life to the fullest. |
There is no need for me to make a resolution or promises I may not be able to keep. Living life to the fullest every day, all year, is what works for me.
Happy New Year
