Morning Muse - Keeper of the Words

Very few of my first drafts, of anything I write, starts on a computer. I much prefer to write long hand. Carrying a journal of sorts with me where ever I go. It occurs to me that the start and end of many a story have been packed around the country on road trips, visits and even shopping for groceries. 

In between stories, the keeper of the words, have snippets on the weather, thoughts of the day, health, family and friends.  

I ponder, while writing, if when I am gone, will those left in charge of my hand written volumes, actually read them. It would be sad to see the years of writing destroyed without a thought. There are life stories filtered in amongst the pages of the fiction and nonfiction. Escapades that have made some profound impacts on life and how we do and see things. Humour and tears. 

Of course, these extra words are just my thoughts, and if the bound compilations become dumpster feed, c’est la vie, that’s life. The words will be forever mine and I will then become the keeper of the words.
