I is for Internet

Who needs the internet when you have party lines, Marcotte’s general store, the post office?  The women have the Ladies Aid and quilting bees; the men, Arsen’s or Snyder’s garage.  Chit-chat everywhere.  Knots of people standing about after church.  “Have you heard the latest?” the start of every conversation. The good thing about small towns: everyone knows your business.  The bad thing about small towns: everyone knows your business.  Mark Zuckerberg, eat your heart out.
