Survival in a new environment and acceptance by those who live there may mean giving up some of their own cultural traditions and embrace new ones. Making friends is hard. Embracing a friendship is not always easy, either.

A month with her aging Aunt who had no television, no internet, no mall and no cell service. What was she thinking?
She had arrived with none of skills necessary to survive in her aunt's lifestyle. She was programmed to think that food, clothes and entertainment came from a store or electronic device!
Now she could bake her favourite gingersnaps; and, her Aunt had taught her to sew. Together, they worked on a Friendship Star quilt.
She balked at milking the cow. Her Aunt was patient and so was the cow.
The wise, gentle woman had changed her life. It would be hard to leave her newfound friend.
