Places to eat become favourites for a variety of reasons. Like the food, service, price and lets not forget clean restrooms. I know, what do bathrooms have to do with eating out? Well, maybe not much. Think of it as a reflection of how management looks after all the details in their establishment.
If your eat out criteria list is covered off in one place, you have hit a gold mine. If it is lacking in a few areas give it another chance. We give out favourites two chances to buck up and meet the standards we are used to from them.We understand everything and everybody can have a bad day. If the downward spiral appears to not be changing direction, then it becomes a place we no longer go to or recommend.
Squirrelling out a decent place to eat in a small town when you’re travelling is a challenge. For that reason, we would like to share (in no particular order) some of our go to restaurants, bistros and diners that have been a good bet over the years.
Some of these establishments may have changed hands. They might be closed (for good) and will most likely have had a change in staff. Keep in mind, that this is our favourite list and may not appeal to your palate.
