When we travel for any length of time, I like to be able to be able to write. The majority of my work is first done in long hand. Next the words are moved to my Scrivener program on a flash drive for future upload to the computer at home. Not every destination or overnight stop comes with ample room for laptop, notes and whatever project I might be working on. I should add, every trip does not garner my taking all of this paraphernalia along, but when I do, I like knowing I can work in comfort. There are times, when space is minimal, I have to improvise. A small suitcase with the handle extended works wonders as a binder prop. At the right height, it keeps the line of vision at the level I am used to. If I need to move, it’s mobile, it’s functional, and it does the job just fine. When you travel and want to write, what oddities do you use to make working away from home easier and comfortable? |
