The warm breath before the sensation of his facial hair tickling along the neckline of her shirt made her giggle. She playfully pushed him away with a gentle hand. She didn’t mind the interruption, cleaning stalls was not her favourite chore, but a necessary one. She felt him nibbling at her ear, and giggled. Turning, she buried her face in his warm neck. He was the sweetest thing in her life. Certainly better than a bowl of cherries. Stepping away from her embrace, he reached for the oat pail. Laughing, she scolded the foal. “You’re nothing but cupboard love.” I could watch baby animals for hours, especially when it comes to horses. Their long gangly legs seem to be a surprise to them when they play - jumping, kicking, and flat out running. They are like any child, often too smart for their own good, and inquisitive, which can get them into trouble. Let’s not forget the love of treats and a good scratch. It takes them time to trust, but if their momma is okay with you, they will soon make the first move to greet you. From their need for attention, to being aloof and shy, a foal is a character worth the time you can spend around them. That's gorgeous, Ann, almost as gorgeous as a foal. They are fascinating creatures.

Thank you Norah. Foals most certainly are one of the most delightful animals to watch.
