Chapter Edit

A few weeks ago, I finished another chapter for a book I am writing.

Happy with the word count, and happy with my characters and how the story is evolving, I let it be for a few days while these joyous thoughts roamed around in my head, nurturing the words of the next chapters.

The time came for me to print it off and take it to my quiet spot for a once over to see what needed tweaking.

All thoughts of happiness vanished!

Modern technology, within these written words, had reared its blatant, ugly head. In our modern, IT world perspective, it was obvious that there was going to have to be a slight change in the storyline.

The edit continues, and the happy thoughts are returning to my brain.

My character? Oh, she is trying to figure out what she needs to do with her computer.

In times of both sadness and smiles, confiding in others may not be an option. Yet, the release of the emotion, without its sanctuary being compromised, comes from within.

Finding comfort in putting pen to paper is the solace we sometimes need to let us breathe and carry on.

Slow Lane

Finding the right balance in life can be a perplexing avenue of twists, turns and dead ends.

Working outside of the home for the corporate conglomerates uses up approximately eight of the twenty-four hours that are allotted in any given day. This does not include travel to and from the job; and, for good measure, an additional hour should be included into the mix.

Throw in the meals, laundry, meetings, chauffeur duties resulting in a miscellaneous usage of another five hours. Top that off with six hours of sleep extracted from the repository to be added to the daily use cauldron. The balance is a not so whopping four hours.

Being a time management guru is crucial for organizing and executing the essentials that keep the mind on an even keel.

Use the residual hours to open the gate and travel in the slow lane. Taking advantage of any squirrelled away minutes to rest, relax and rejuvenate.
