Voice and Vision

What is Voice and Vision?

It is best described as a collaboration of wordsmiths and artisans coming together to create pieces inspired by each other’s work.

In the spring of the year, the group comes together, and the artists draw from anonymous envelopes to discover who their partner will be. Inside the envelope is the writers’ submission - a story, a poem, a piece of prose that is no longer than 250-words. This then indicates which piece of work submitted by the artist that the writer will have to write another 250-word piece in response while the artist creates their response to the piece inside the envelope.

During Art and Cultural Days the group hosts an evening, open to the public, to launch the book and showcase the completed work by both the artist and writers. On this evening, the public has the opportunity to meet and talk to both contributors as well as hear the writers read one of their submissions and view the artist's work.

2018 is the third year for the Voice and Vision project, and it is the third year the group will publish the original submissions from writers and artists as well as their response pieces.
