Sabbatical
It has been a long, arduous, emotional, spring and summer, and I have to tell you it feels good to be back at it. Winter didn’t want to let go, and when it finally did, spring was a blink before the hot, dry weather of summer slammed us. Oh, I am well aware we are now barely into the fall season. The cool mornings, warm days and colouring leaves of the last days of summer took my thoughts to wondering what is in store for us. Here’s hoping, and with any luck, we will enjoy an old-fashioned Indian Summer.
In the short time you have received our newsletter or followed our blog and social media locations, you have learned about me, the writer. The person who is dedicated to her heritage, old ways, and traditions. And, through written words and photographs, sharing what others may never get to experience.
You have not necessarily been privy to the other side of this writer. The person who is passionate about her family and those closest to her. The person who, without a second thought, took a sabbatical from writing and sharing with you to put all her energy and focus on the person you have all come to know as “the man of the house”.
In early July, Steve put his foot in the stirrup and swung into the saddle for the last time to ride to where he can watch over all of us. He left a legacy of memories, stories, and love that will continue to show up from time to time as he travels with me in my heart on my photographic and writing journey.
