Hypnotic Light

Picture provided from Lightbox Originals
His eyes fluttered open to the sound of lapping water. Shockwaves of agony pulsed through his body towards his brain with each attempt to move on the mattress of rocks. His mind wandered towards an unconscious fog. Snippets of a sun etched path glistening across the calm bay flickered through his mind. Colours from the sky coupled with the liquid, ricocheting, changing, with each passing minute. There was no colour now, only darkness, and an intermittent, hypnotic flash of light from somewhere. Closing his eyes, he saw the lighthouse. A tormented scream shattered the night. Now he knew.
